Job Description
|
The Tax Accountant II is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the following:
• Quarterly federal and state income tax provisions
• Preparation of federal and state income tax returns. This involves analyzing and reconciling accounting data, and preparing workpapers supporting these returns.
• State estimated income tax payments.
• Gathering information for state and federal income tax audits and responding to correspondence from state authorities.
• Other projects including research as directed by tax management.
Required Skills
• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Tax or Accounting.
• Knowledge of federal and state income tax principles, and experience in preparing state and federal income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
• Good to high-level spreadsheet and other PC applications skills.
• Ability to perform required tasks with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Must meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
• CPA.
• One to three years of industry or accounting experience would be helpful.
• Previous experience in the high-tech industry in the tax area or public accounting tax experience.
• General knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion or equivalent transaction systems, processes and practices.
