Title: Director of International Tax
Responsibilities:
The Director of International Tax is responsible for providing a wide range of tax planning advice with regard to Aon Corporation’s international operations in order to minimize the company’s worldwide effective tax rate:
• Design and lead the implementation of optimal tax structures for acquisitions and dispositions (e.g. funding for acquisitions, entity classification elections, desirability of 338 elections, etc.).
• Recommend and lead the implementation and maintenance of tax advantaged financing structures.
• Develop strategies to minimize Subpart F income.
• Develop strategies to mobilize foreign cash, maximize tax effective foreign cash repatriation, and generally coordinate global cash management with Aon’s Treasury Department.
• Create and periodically update effective tax rate analyses for foreign entities.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of Form 5471s and Form 1118 for Aon’s large scale legal structure in over 120 countries.
• Supervise, motivate and develop 6-8 tax professionals including 3 experienced International Tax Managers.
• Interface with Aon foreign office tax and other financial personnel as well as both US and foreign outside tax advisors.
• Support both headquarters and overseas regional office projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
This position requires an individual with a minimum of 15 years of progressive tax experience in a large corporate environment and/or public accounting, with significant international tax exposure. The Director of International Tax must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong managerial background with superb project management experience. Educational requirements include an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, and a J.D. or Masters in Taxation. A CPA is strongly preferred.
